How to use the ebook outline generator

Describe the book in a sentence or two, add who it’s for, and choose a length: 6, 8 or 12 chapters. In a few seconds you get a working title, a chapter-by-chapter plan with what each chapter gives the reader, and three or four sections in each.

Copy it, edit it, or click Write this book with Koobe: the studio opens with your idea and this outline attached, ready to draft every chapter.

What makes a good outline

  • It moves the reader somewhere. From first steps to confident practice, in the order they’ll need it.
  • Every chapter earns its place. Each one has a clear job; if two chapters say the same thing, merge them.
  • Titles are specific. “Fixing a flat, dense loaf” beats “Troubleshooting”.
  • Sections are small enough to write in one sitting. Most chapters need three to five.

A 6-chapter outline suits a lead magnet or short guide (around 8,000 words). Twelve chapters suits a full how-to book. Check your target with our guide to how long an ebook should be, and read our step-by-step guide to writing an ebook.
